John R. D'Eathe Elected to Kilroy Realty Corporation Board of Directors

LOS ANGELES, November 7, 1997 - Kilroy Realty Corporation (NYSE: KRC) today announced its board of directors has elected John R. D'Eathe, president of Freehold Development Canada Ltd., a director of the company, filling a newly created board position.
D'Eathe is a 30-year veteran of real estate development and management in Canada, Europe and the United States. His private company, Freehold Development Canada is primarily focused on commercial and industrial development in western Canada. Prior to its formation, D'Eathe was president and CEO of Canadian Freehold Properties Ltd., a Canadian-based development company involved in commercial projects in both Canada and the United States. He has also served as a director and senior vice president of Grosvenor International, a private real estate group that owns and develops property around the world.
D'Eathe is chairman and president of Penreal Advisors Ltd., one of Canada's largest pension fund real estate investment and advisory firms. He is also chairman of Spark Music Inc., of Vancouver, and is a director of John Hancock's Maritime Life Assurance Company. He lives with his wife in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Kilroy Realty Corporation owns, operates and develops office and industrial properties in California. At September 30, 1997, the company owned 3.1 million square feet of commercial office space and 3.8 million square feet of industrial space.
