Kilroy Realty Corp Names New Acquisitions and Finance Officers

Los Angeles, March 13 -- Kilroy Realty Corporation (NYSE: KRC) today announced the appointments of Alan S. Pekarcik as senior vice president and head of the company's acquisitions team and Tyler H. Rose as senior vice president and treasurer. Both seasoned veterans of the real estate industry in the western United States, Pekarcik and Rose are the first executives to join the 50-year-old, Los Angeles-based real estate firm since its formation as a real estate investment trust and initial public offering of stock earlier this year.
Pekarcik joined Kilroy from Voit Commercial Brokerage, where he served as a broker specializing in industrial investment transactions. Over the course of his 17-year career in commercial real estate, Pekarcik has successfully completed more than 600 sales and lease transactions valued at over $850 million. In addition to Voit, he has worked for Daum/Johnston American and Business Properties. Pekarcik attended the University of Southern California.
Prior to joining Kilroy, Rose was a senior vice president and treasurer for Irvine Apartment Communities, a Newport Beach-based apartment REIT. Previously, he served as vice president, corporate finance, with The Irvine Company. Rose began his career with J.P. Morgan & Co., holding various positions in both the bank's real estate finance and mergers and acquisitions departments. Rose received a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California at Berkeley and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Chicago.

Kilroy Realty Corporation is a Southern California-based real estate investment trust that primarily operates and develops commercial and industrial properties, primarily in California. At December 31, 1996, the company owned 2.0 million square feet of commercial office space and 1.3 million square feet of industrial space.
