Edward F. Brennan Joins Kilroy Realty Corporation Board of Directors

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 21, 2003--The board of directors of Kilroy Realty Corporation (NYSE:KRC) today elected Edward F. Brennan, Ph.D., a member of the board. Brennan, 51, is managing partner of Perennial Investments, a Seattle-based venture capital firm. His election increases KRC's total board membership to seven, including five independent members.

"Ed's experience as a venture capitalist as well as his specific knowledge of the life science industry will be an invaluable resource," said John B. Kilroy, Jr., KRC's president and chief executive officer. "He is an investor in the type of enterprises that are a growing force in the California economy and an important part of our tenant base. We're delighted to have him join KRC's board."

Brennan has participated in the development, management and financing of new biotechnology ventures for 23 years, including scientific and executive positions with Syntex, Inc., Medtronic Inc., DepoMed Systems, Inc. and CardioGenesis Corp. He holds a B.A. degree in chemistry and biology and a Ph.D. in biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
