SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 24, 2002--Kilroy Realty Corporation (NYSE:KRC), the leading commercial developer in the North San Diego market, began construction on the new headquarters for AMN Healthcare Services, Inc. (NYSE:AHS), at 12400 High Bluff Drive in Del Mar this week. AMN, one of San Diego's fastest-growing companies, is set to occupy 175,000 square feet of the 210,000-square-foot class "A" office building in August 2003.

"With its classic architecture and stone facade, the building will be the landmark corporate headquarters in the region," according to Steve Scott, senior vice president of Kilroy Realty. "Further, the 10-acre site with its Japanese garden-inspired landscaping will provide a delightful campus for the 500 AMN employees who will work here. We have incorporated many outdoor landscaped seating and meeting areas to take advantage of the setting and our climate as well as to stimulate staff communication and interaction."

The six-story building will present a classic palate to the millions who will see it from the adjacent I-5 freeway, according to Jim Edwards, Kilroy Realty project manager. Four different types of limestone in rich, muted tones will clad the building facade accented by contemporary stainless steel balconies and projections.

The lobby of marble, limestone and cherry wood will soar two stories with full-sized windows that will supply an abundance of natural light. The building's first floor is encircled by a limestone arcade.

The design is a collaboration between the national award-winning firm of HKS Architects and Hanna Gabriel Wells of San Diego.

The AMN lease is the largest in San Diego County in the past three years. Further, it is the third major lease in 2002 for buildings in Kilroy Realty's San Diego development pipeline and reflects the strong diversity of the San Diego market as well as its rebounding economy, said Scott.

A leading owner/operator and developer of office and industrial space for innovative, knowledge-based companies in San Diego, Kilroy Realty has completed major facilities for Applied Micro Circuits Corp., Ericsson, and biotech leader Diversa Corp. Kilroy Realty owns and manages approximately 3 million square feet in San Diego that was 98 percent occupied at March 31, 2002, with 1.7 million square feet in the pipeline in the Sorrento Mesa, Del Mar and Carmel Mountain Ranch submarkets.
